Trusts have been established and managed in the United Kingdom, and many countries deriving their legal background from the laws of England, for many centuries.

For well over 30 years trusts based on the laws of England and countries such as Jersey, Guernsey, the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands have been established and managed from Switzerland and in particular from Geneva which is the pre-eminent Swiss centre of private client activity and fund management.
